Woodley Estate Project

Wilder Romsey’s very first project was to place wildflower turf in neglected corners of the estate. A grant application for £17,500 has now been submitted to Test Valley Borough Council which – if successful, in November 2021 – will provide funds to:

• Create a community orchard near the shopping precinct

• Green-up a further 6 locations dotted around the estate

Estate residents will be consulted in the coming months re whether these are the right 7 locations, and exactly what is needed (currently planned to be a mixture of lifting slabs and putting extensive planters on areas of tarmac – both to be planted with wildflowers).

Volunteers will be needed in November/December/January to help with the work, once we have confirmation that the grant has been approved.
